I always had rotten luck doing that stuff, trying to cut it right. Then someone told me to cut it a hair oversize, and see how it fits, and then just sand down the parts that are too high or wide. It sounds like double work, but after I did that a few times, it takes longer than what I was doing but it would work on the first time.

Replaced belt tensioner, idler pulley, and belt. Cleaned throttle body and MAF. Tracked down small valve cover leak(s). I'm not looking forward to doing that job at all.

Continued on with repairing 20 years of bad wiring decisions on my part and repairing the original truck wiring as needed when I find it in the process. Have two minor areas and one major area of concern left, then I'll be pretty much done with it entirely. The next area is going to be around the steering column and brake booster under the hood, it's where I spliced all of the 4.0 swap wiring and it's a little bit of a mess but it'll clean up nicely. I'll try to take some before and after pics of that mess, it might be next weekend's project. In the meantime here's a pic of some green pins.

No. passenger side only, Lightning style. 3.0 V-6, no muffler, MAC cai., larger throttle body, tuned for 93 octane, shift kit in the trans., 4.10 gears in the axle. It runs great!

It goes well enough for me. Due to the large intake tube, a full three inches from the MAF to the TB, it's a little boggy off idle. But picks up quickly once moving. And it loves revving to the moon.

Put that in, along with a new transmission underneath it with a new flywheel, clutch, etc.

In other news, AMS Automotive's clutches don't last long. Their "heavy duty" (HA) one lasted me 50-55k and gave up the ghost, and took the flywheel and pressure plate with it.
