What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

No idea but maybe both orings are on the bottom?

My oldest son and i hit the junkyard because it showed a 2014 focus, and he is looking for the st3 level radio snd navigation to put into his car.... so we go and of course, the focus has been there a week so it looks like a carcass picked clean by buzzards but we do find a super clean and complete 96 b2300 single cab mazda. So we check out the mazda and its got some nice seats and an awesome center console in it. The console has a flip up arm rest, and decent size cubby under the armrest with lid, and front cup holders, and its all stock. We are both amazed to find this because we have been wanting to swap our board hard 2004 seats for some of the older style more comfy seats but they are hard to find. So we start pulling it all, and of course, the driversnd oassenger seats are actually not that great but the center console is mint and black and grey, like our interior. The seats looked like someone sliced them qith a box cutter so no-go but that console came home with us.

Now we are really on the hunt for some seats so we can use this super cool center console.

I didnt take a pic but is this one, in this exploded view. We got the brackets, screws, little hole covers, everything

I recommend looking for the cup holder that has the cups front to back not side to side since you have a manual, that side by side version will hit even cans in second and reverse if memory serves... I probably have a spare floating around the garage...

I know the current cup holder is side to side, the one that bolts to the seat, and everything gets hit when shifting so you are probably 100% right about it hitting.

I didnt even know they made a front/rear cup holder

Yep, it just pops in, I'll have a gander in the garage tonight, I know I have at least one on the center console I have but I think I have a spare... There's actually 3 styles of inserts for those consoles, one's a single cup that's kinda silly...

My 92 STX has that style center console. It’s an auto so no worries on hitting anything.

My green 00 I made a custom center console with oversized cup holders. Another auto.

Dad made a couple oak cup holders for his dump trucks. They are pretty nice, but most drinks don’t fit in them. I had intended on building a better one but never got to it. Cans fit and cleared everything, but most of the fast food and convenience store fountain drinks that would fit would get destroyed by the shifter. When I built the custom dog-leg style shifter for my F-150, I was able to make something that wasn’t such a problem for drinks.

Didn’t work on any of my trucks, but ordered some more parts and chasing parts for my tire machine.

FedEx brought dad’s tires and core supports… and threw it all in the end of the driveway in the rain and drove off. This is after not delivering stuff yesterday and marking it as a delivery attempt was made but nobody was here (both me and dad were outside all afternoon, no attempt was actually made).

Looks a lot like the Explorer console I have for my truck. Except that #14 piece. What is that?

The aluminum bracket that mounts it to the floor.

yeah, Mine doesn't have that. When I got the truck, it already had explorer buckets and the console. The console was rigged, not the way the factory did it at all. PO screwed 2 fishing rod holders to the bottom of the console ( front part of #2 ), screwed a 4" piece of 1" pvc pipe to the floor, and the rod holders snapped onto the pvc pipe. Make it real easy to remove the console if ever needed. *genius*

You would have been the only if it looked like that here, that's for sure

Drove it.
Broke it.
Got it winched out of the creek.
Drove it home.
Story in my build thread.

I replaced the power steering hose. I really hate working around transmission fluid. It gets everywhere and all over everything regardless of how careful I am, and its so damn slippery that the tools kept slipping out of my hands. After I finished I backed it up and degreased the mess in the engine compartment and poured litter on the driveway to absorb the transmission fluid on the driveway.

After I was done with all that, I drove it to Best Buy and purchased a new cable modem because Comcast finally upgraded the speeds in the neighborhood. I can now download at around 1Gbps. Time to upgrade my router.
