What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

People who do that really <censored> me off. Do you realize that now the tenants whom that bin is intended for have NOWHERE to put their garbage? And do you realize that now the landlord has to pay extra to dump your <censored> so that the tenants have somewhere to put their garbage?

Next time, take your trash to the <censored> dump, and pay the dumping fees yourself!

Their tenants use my trash cans all the time because it's a shorter walk across the street than it is to the end of the complex their living in. They walk right up to the front porch to do it. I've called the apartment management to suggest they place dumpsters some place not so far from most of the tenants. Their response was, "it's just trash, deal with it." Thus, I have no reservations using their dumpster once in the 11 years I've lived here. And what I got rid of over there wasn't even trash. It was cardboard the complex is probably makes some change on in their recycling program.

here, if your driver's license shows you live in the city, you don't get charged to dump normal things. and if you bring metal stuff, they take it in the recycle area so you don't have to go through the dump line.

but, the long drive to get to the dump apparently puts people off because they throw stuff under the over passes and behind buildings that are for sale or along the side of the little used roads.

I live in the county. They don't charge under a certain weight. The problem with their two locations to dump things is that they are all a 30+ minute drive away from where most people live. The end result is there is a lot of stuff dumped along the streets around business parks.

Problem is, if the dump was conveniently located, no one would want to live there.

I'm 2 miles from the county landfill and they have a categorized dump/recycling center right at the entrance. It's part of my county taxes. No extra fees.

It doesn't matter how you try to justify illegal dumping @Bill ... it's still illegal. Two wrongs never make it right... ever. I know your mother taught you that. I hope they have you on camera and you try to justify why you did it in front of a judge.

This little illegal moment by someone like you cost me a special pickup. At least it didn't end up on the side of the road... right?

Anyway both my truck and I had a lunch date today.

And I noticed today my starter was sounding funny. Had kind of a weird hangup noise like a old POS Chevy (more POS-like than the average old Chevy) So I crawled under it tonight after it quit raining and the starter darn near about ready to abandon ship. So I snugged that back down and I think all is right for now.

No, it isn't someone like me. There's a lot of difference between putting cardboard in a recycle dumpster and dumping off a sofa. Over here it's illegal to dispose of items like that anywhere else other than the dump.

And I'm not in the least bit concerned about it. I've been around in circles with the county here about people filling up my trash cans, often dumping rotten food and other nasty stuff in them, and the management at the complex and the county telling me, "it's only trash, what's the problem?"

And tonight is trash night. The trash can I rolled out there already has several bags of trash in it that isn't mine.

The problem is it isn't even conveniently accessible. There are numerous yards where the dump trucks are parked overnight. How about having a few places where people can dump off old mattresses and other items that can be hauled out to the dump from some place that is conveniently located? Another issue is getting rid of hazardous waste. I had to close to two hours of my time, plus gas, because some dingbat who wanted to give their dog some water literally sprayed the water into the used oil container I left sitting next to the faucet. The automotive shops will not take oil contaminated with water here. It's hard to find one that will take anything other than motor oil. The end result is people dump it down the storm drain, or in some cases, directly on the street because they don't want to make a huge errand to dispose of anti-freeze or transmission fluid. There are places in front of the apartments across the street where the asphalt is coming apart due to the automotive fluids that people just dump on the street because they don't want take it out to the dump.

here, the local autoparts stores take used oil for free. i know it doesn't help your situation but just commenting.

Somewhere, somebody is looking for a nice brown couch with a little roll out ottoman.

It's exactly like you... illegal dumping is illegal dumping. What's worse is... you're a hypocrite. Remember the two wrongs thing?

We're done with your illegal dumping activities here. This is for talking about what we did with our beloved Rangers.

Rattle canned my diff cover silver. It looked too plain so I taped it up, drew a spider on it and cut it out with a cheap plastic knife and shot it flat black. Yay or nay ?
