I can’t remember if I explained how I got into the predicament. So I was headed up the road when I found a large snow drift. Like a hundred yards long and around 2-3 foot deep. I got stuck and winched out. After I got out, I decided to drive along the top of the cut bank where it was only 18” deep. Well there was a pile of dirt and I kinda knew what it was but didn’t realize the mining cut would be 4 foot deep. So all said and done, My front end sank. Then kept sinking as I kept digging. I broke the brand new winch rope and got mad. I lucked out and met the people who lived on a 40 acres half a mile down the road. They just bought that dozer and they were kind enough to go way out of their way to help me out. All said and done, I made a new friend and learned a few lessons lol. The biggest of them being synthetic winch ropes are not durable enough for me and to find at least another 100’ of winch line to reach way out there.
