What did you do to your 2019 and up Ranger today?

Is Intercooler damage a real concern, meaning does it happen with some regularity?

CMOS

The chances are slim but not impossible. If it was the A/C condenser in front, I wouldn’t have bothered but an expensive item critical to engine operation, I spent the $100 as a preventative step.

Well my roof rack came in today. Some assembly required haha. Bit put it together and had Zane help me get it on the roof. Seems pretty solid and no drilling. We will see how it holds up.

Looks good! Read the fine print on what the off road rating is on it or call the manufacturer. The weight capacity can be significantly less than what it’s on road rating is. Off the top of my head, I think the ones on the roof of both of my trucks are reduced by 50%. The ones on my bed cap roofs are only 25%.

I'm not going to haul much. A solar panel and traction boards will take up most of it. I'm building a bed rack that's gonna have a basket to haul my spare and recovery gear. I'm thinking of mounting the solar under the bars so I can still through my kayak or skis up there

Wouldn’t hurt to have the numbers in any case. I stenciled the numbers on the bars so I don’t forget. Up until now, it’s either been the kayak or the canoe on trails. Anything heavier has been on road and for construction projects.

It says it's 330lb weight capacity. I'll never get close. But it's advertised as an offroad product so it may be rated that off road. But it will never see 150lbs so it should be great. I'll see how bad the wind noise is tomorrow. The height is adjustable so may have to play with it some.

Well update. On the way to work it sounded like a helicopter was about to land on the roof when I got over 40 haha. So 1st I tried dropping as low as I could to see if that helped. Yes till about 50 then it came back worse. Was actually hitting the roof. So I ended up taking the little rubber strip off the edge and replacing it with a peice with a seal on it. Dropped it down til the seal smashed between the roof and wind faring. 60 and no noise at all. I'll test again at lunch but seemed great after.

Gave it the last wash and detail of the year and smoked a fine cigar while I was at it (La Gloria Cubana Serie R)
Pretty soon I won't be able to do either. Getting a new left knee on Wednesday and I can't smoke for a couple days prior to surgery and won't be moving well for a few weeks after.
Also cut my grass and my mom's at her new house. Gonna get all the use of my OE knee that I can.

Well I messed around with my bed rack project. Couldn't figure out how to make it work with my bed cover and still look right. To get the angle to match the cab, my rear flip up hits the rails. So I went back to the drawing board. I came up with this idea

I would use my factory tire hanger on the bottom of a small basket and put some expanded metal across the front for safety.

a little mock up to find my angles. What's y'alls thoughts?

I finally finished my GMRS radio install. I finished recessing the radio into the dash a few weeks ago but never finished running the antenna or power wires. Now it’s all done and tested… ready for next weekends trip to AOAA.

Is that not where the passenger airbag is?

No, the airbag comes out of the top of the dash. I posted a video in my build thread.

I ordered a 2” leveling kit today. I figure the 2” kit, along with the weight of the winch, will give me a little over 1” of lift in the front.
