Hey, While investigate Battery draw and inspecting what previous owner frankensteined with the stereo, I came accross an item I cant identify plastic black box with ZERO identify codes/Brands, 3 Wires, any thoughts?

The Green light APPEARS to come on with motion can't say for sure as it wasn't 100% of the time... So I was thinking a shock sensor for a alarm system that was removed.. but I need to confirm before I tear it out lol

Any thoughts would help.

Thanks

Yep, it sure does look like a sensor for an alarm system, but I can't ID a brand or model. Looks like it might even be a microwave (radar) type. Since it's still powered, you should track the wires back to their source, to remove it cleanly. Don't you just love cleaning up electrical messes after somebody?

Thats pretty neat... but scary at the same time because, well, what else is there jerry rigged in there?

Look how the wires are... he has to cut the blue wire to get to the other two.

And my vote goes for shock sensor, or at least something for an alarm.

And what's the 3,000 feet of gray wire rolled up?

.

My theory is that his truck is actually a transformer but he has just not discoverd it yet. That is not a alarm system componet but a secret on/off sensor of some sort...:icon_rofl:

And what's the 3,000 feet of gray wire rolled up?.

Oh, that's just a mobile internet connection, from the pre-wireless days.

and the winner is... Part of a CB Radio.. WTF!!!! Hidden away stuffed under the dash.. I cant beleive the previous owner would consider his wire job good enough... WOW!!! so here is the fun bunch of garbage I got to tear out before installing my new deck..

CB radio? Looks like you have an alarm, sensor, and radio head unit there.

Regardless, at least you've got the old garbage stripped out. Good job!

it very well good be part of an alarm, I base it off of the back panel "CB Antenna" which was connected to the factory one... either way it was junk lol.. clean as a whislte now...

Good job getting rid of that crap.... looks like a wiring short time bomb just waiting to go off at the next bump..... can anyone say ground short >>??? LOL

Hmmmm...don't know what it is but it looks like the green light is still on...ooops!

Hope you threw it away far enough that when it detonates it won't take out your town...:)

wow rats work more neat than the guy who installed that stuff...
