I Have picked up a 2001 one-piece drive line for my 94 Ranger to ditch the two-piece. My rear pinion is pointed so it's a straight shot to the t-case, so I was thinking of adding a double cardan joint to the top and having the shaft shorted to make up for it. Is there one that uses the same u-joint that can be fitted on the existing one? Or do I need to have the whole end changed out?

Thanks in advance.:icon_cheers:

The shafts with the double cardan joints are completely different. With a one piece shaft the angle you have with that length of shaft should not creat a problem, single at each end should be fine

Okay, thanks. I haven't had a chance to put the shaft in yet (carpal tunnel surgery), but I was a bit more worried about vibration since the t-case and rear diff are at different angles.

If needed, you can get angled shims that go between the leaf spring and the axle to change the angle (they bolt in with the leafspring centerpin).

That sounds easier and cheaper. Swapped rear springs and didn't put the shims back in. Really cheap if I can find those in the garage.
