I've been having this problem for a while that I get this film on the inside of my windshield and it's like I have fog on the windshield on the inside. I know it's not the heater core because I have no coolant smell inside the cab and I've tried everything to clean it off and when I do, it's pretty much a temporary fix because it comes right back a few days later. Any ideas what I can do to clean the windshield better to get rid of this film?

you could quit smoking doobies, thats a sure way to get filmy windows. lol jk maybe its coming from something you park next to?

The plastic in the truck will outgas and fog your windows. usually it is worse when the truck is new. possibly a leaking evap core for the a/c?

Evap core could be leaking, however I have had pin-hole leaks in heater cores cause a fog or film with no smell, and only minor coolant loss.

If you smoke in the vehicle that is also a sure way to fog the windows like you describe.

remove glass and where gogles:icon_rofl::DLOL

i would also lean toward heater core or not smoking in truck..

As a connoisseur of non-watertight vehicles and knowing that our trucks have a history of leaky high-mount brake lights and front and back glass, I would guess that due to residual moisture in the carpet plus hot, sunny days = hazed over interior glass.

I should've been more clear on this. I don't smoke and this has been going on since I bought it new.

Are you a mouth breather?

Ok, all joking aside, I'd be curious about moisture in the cab. you're in a high humidity region of the country, so any residual moisture in the truck will be amplified in a closed environment. Running AC or no? drive with the windows down or typically up? vents set up recirculation or open to fresh air?

I have an 08 FX4 and the inside of the windshield gets dirty faster than any vehicle I have ever owned. NO clue why.

Very odd. I have never had this problem with any of my vehicles, ever. Most of our vehicles are garage kept. Very odd since you say you don't smoke. I know that as the interior plastic becomes older even after a year of just being kept outdoors what you are seeing happens.
My wife drives her Corolla more often then our other vehicles and the inside of the windshield gets a bit hazy, but not really bad. It wipes clean in a second.
I think it is from her hairspray and perfume when she uses it daily. Now that she has retired this June I have not seen the hazy film on the inside of the windshield recently. She is not driving it every day to school. I cleaned her car about 2 weeks ago and the inside windshield stills looks good.
