I have a 1994 ford ranger 4.0l. I have to replace my wheel bearing on my front driver side. I went to the part store and they said which axle do I have? I had no clue. If you guys have any tips about it, that would be great!

I thought it was the 35, but I wasn't sure. thanks!

ALL '91-'97 trucks take the D35 wheel bearings (Timken SET-37) regardless of axle.

This is one of those persistent errors in the chain store's computer lookups that no one seems interested in fixing (if your '94 happened to have the D28, the only parts that are different from the D35 are contained within the differential housing itself, plus the two inner axle shafts that enter into it). Brakes, knuckles, spindles, ball joints, u-joints, wheel bearings are all the same regardless.

If you want to simply avoid this headache for any front axle parts, tell them you have a '94 Explorer (w/o ABS).

Yes, Timken SET37 (qty. 4) is what I used for my Dana 35. See photos here: http://imgur.com/a/d8skq

FYI, Dana puts a helpful ID sticker on your TTB axle. Look for a number like "610419" on the large Yellow&White sticker behind your front axle, like this one shown here:
