What Are You Listening To???

this has all been older stuff, so far. youtube music is the only thing we can get for music at work, even fm is bad in the building so its what the guy i work with picks out. luckily, we both are rock guys because it would suck to be listening to country all day.

normally it sounds like a flea market in here with all the tejano, country, and rock being played at each different area but everyone moved to the new building except three of us. so willie plays tejano and we play rock

today is tejano day here in the army depot. we are on the phone alot today, for some odd reason, so we have to turn our music down and that gives us nothing to cover the tejano. feels like the swap meet

I was today years old when I heard of "Tejano Music"

Anyways there is a SWEET ASS Ford Escort in this vdo

That new album they put out a few years ago rocks as hard as anything they did back in the day.. except perhaps painkiller.. super impressive.
My old boss( passed away 2 years ago in a car accident) his brother Paul has been their drummer for about the past 10 years. They always stop by the shop while passing through Nashville. The owner of my shop was like one of their brothers growing up together. Super cool guys

On Edmund Fitzgerald day...

That one always gets some airtime in November. I like the song any time of the year though.

When we were in the UP a few years back we visited a museum ship in Sault Ste. Marie. Among the many exhibits they had a lifeboat from the Edmund Fitzgerald. It was sobering to see and think about those who risk and sometimes lose their lives so we can have things many take for granted. We did not make it to Whitefish Point but there is a shipwreck museum and memorial there I'd like to visit the next time we to up there.

If you get a chance. Go visit the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum on Whitefish Point (mentioned in the song) in the UP in Michigan

They have the ships bell from the wreck which they replaced on the wreck itself with one that was engraved with the names of everyone on the Fitzgerald.

Yes, that's the one we weren't able to go to. We plan to on our next trip; I loved the UP and can't wait to go back. I'd move there tomorrow if there was work for me.

Our last visit we planned to spend a week and camped in different spots a couple of days at a time. We ended up staying two extra days and still didn't have enough time, so there's a few places on the list including Whitefish Point.

It's a bucket list thing for sure, I love reading about old ships/machines in general.

If you're into old machinery you should visit the steam thresher reunion in Rollag, MN if you haven't yet. They may have something similar in IA being an ag state, but so far I've never seen anything quite like it anywhere else. It's a couple hundred acres and they have tons of old tractors, steam, oil, gas, diesel powered. They run them and you can watch them plowing, threshing, running mills, pulling, etc. Also large stationary steam and gas engines. They have one big steam engine from a Pabst brewery. All of it is on display and most is running; you can get right up close to everything. It's every labor day weekend and close to lakes country in MN so lots of beautiful areas to camp nearby.

I have seen movies of it, quite a thing. It would be fun.

There is a big one in Mt pleasant I have never made it to. Albert city has a good show too.
