My 83 Ranger has a 5.0 and c4 trans but im wanting to know what are all the possible t-case options a RBV has other than the obvious 1350&1354? I really want a doubler but all I see are posts all over the web about how none of the 1350/1354 doublers are crap or the people building them are crap.
So whatelse out there will bolt to a c4/c5 and still fit between the frame rails?

Do you have the rbv 5 bolt pattern and 27 spline output shaft, or do you have the full-size 32 spline and 6 bolt pattern?

Haven't had one mechanical issue with my D.D. Machine doubler unit, although I will admit getting it to stay sealed was a bit of a PITA (new longer bolts w/nuts on the adapter plate seems to have cured the issue).

But yeah we need to know what bolt pattern you have on your trans (Atlas II is the only other I know that fits the RBV 5-bolt pattern w/25-spline shaft).

If you have the fullsize, you have endless possibilities.

Stay away from the NP208 with the slip yoke rear.

Look for an NP205 and get a gear reduction kit for it. <-- bulletproof but will be some $$$

BW1356M's are also a good candidate.

I have the 5 bolt. I pulled the 2.9/a4ld/1354e out of my 90 bronco2 then junked the 2.9/a4ld and bolted the stock t-case to my 5.0/c4.

I believe a buddy of mine tried to use a 1356m in a 90 Ranger and it hit the frame from being to wide.

I would love the DD Machine setup but everything I have read makes it sound like their service and delivery time is seriously lacking...

1350, 1354, or atlas are your choices. You might be able to use a Dana 20 with an adapter from AA...

Read recently? Last I heard some months ago he had a whole bunch of kits in stock ready to ship out. Problems he had back around '08 or '09 were because one of his suppliers or heat-treaters flaked out IIRC.
I'd at least give him a call... If he comes through, you'll have a nice well-made kit to put your doubler together with. And if not, then what are you out, a few minutes of your time?

He also on Ebay as 4x4machineshop. (has 100% feedback, so can't be too bad :dunno: )

Thanx I will shoot him a call
