Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission has been given to much power , Who gave them the right to tell us what we can watch , listen to , or read . Come on people if you dont like it dont watch ,listen or read it . We are all adults , and with that we have a choice. If you dont like it change the channel , dont read the book .

ive heard versions of "money for nothin" with the "faggot" lyric replaced, same with a tom petty song "you dont know how it feels to be me" where he says "lets roll another joint" , "joint" was changed to something else, and on some mtv special the kid rock song "all summer long" they outright deleted the lric about "smokin' funny things", i even put the tv on closed captioning to see if what i thought happened, a cd could skip once, but not everytime a certian line is sung. remember when if you didnt like something you just changed the channel? all in the family wouldnt see the light of day in this era, but back in its day it was quite a hit, and nobody shot anyone else over it.....those were the days

Depeneds on the station some have it edited some don't I know one of the stations here will play the songs unedited after midnight curse words and all.
I really think the editing has calmed way down since the whole Janet Jackson/FCC thing. They use to edit "put a gun to his head" on that one Rihanna song to but now they don't. "lets roll another joint" goes on unedited now too. I honestly think the way telvision is getting they will be showing nudity on a regular basis in the next 20 years. Hell kids know what sex is and have seen a full frontal nude man and woman by the time they hit middle school now.

If all it takes is one complaint for a song to be removed, there would be NO music on the air. I know of MANY songs I wouldn't mind deleting from the airwaves, I would be on the phone every time I heard them! They could be deleted forever!

I don't mind the censering at all. What I hate is when I hear a song on the radio that I like so I buy it, and get the spicy version that is full of every word under the sun so I can't listen to it with the window down.

Back about 20 years ago the New York City Rock Station WPLJ had a habit of having college students fill in over holidays, and a "traditional" song for this station to play on Thanksgiving was Arlo Guthrie's "Aice' Resturaunt" (yes the entire thing without interruption sometime during each DJ's 3hour shift...

Well one DJ found himself replaced during a commercial break after only an hour
on the air because after "Alice's Resturaunt" played he appologized for the word
"faggot" which is also included in those lyrics...

Yes, they fired his ass, then the next DJ appologized for the appology.
