Will a 2008 ranger 8.8 rear end bolt-on with no mods to it? I'm looking to see what all bolt-on a 84 ranger. I can get the 2008 rear end for $150 and it has a tru-locker in it

Others might chime in to help, but you want any 8.8 axle out of a ford ranger if your looking for the least amount of work. I don't think your drive shaft bolts directly on, but not sure. That might only be for the explorer 8.8 for your year.

The axle will bolt in, minor changes to the brake lines will be needed, and the drive shaft will not hook up. You will need the correct flange and a conversion joint, or a later drive shaft from a truck with the same wheel base.

I put a 94 explorer 8.8 in my 85.
I still need to change the brakelines.
But as far as the driveline I'm just going to redrill the axle flange to reuse the 85 driveline.
