Hi folks,
Just noticed my passenger floor-boards and carpet on my '94 XLT 4x4 (ext. cab) were good and wet when I pulled the truck back to get the lawn mower out. It does NOT smell like anti-freeze (a smell I know all too well from experience with this truck), and I just had the coolant system flushed and filled earlier this week, and got new heater and radiator hoses installed so I don't believe the heater core is leaking. I pealed back the carpet to dry it out and ran the truck with heater on high for a few minutes, and did not see anything dripping.
Pretty sure I just discovered what it is... It rained pretty good last night and when I came out this morning there was plenty of standing water on the hood (waxed it about 2 weeks ago). I popped the hood to inspect my steering hose job from last night... and watched all that water dump into the vents in the cowl, where the washer fluid nozzles are... Will that find it's way inside the cab down to the floor boards? It's also possible I have a bad door seal or something I suppose, but does that water-into-cowl vent theory sound right?
Thanks!
