So yes discovered the wet floor on the passenger side. looked it up here and found that its a common problem.

Went to locate it exactly. after taking the fender off I discovered that the drain channel as zero access in that corner and is factory spot welded into place. and pretty much not removable.

Took the dash off and found the hole. I Cannot imagine a spot were the truck could have picked that could have be harder to fix. the hole is at the bottom corner of the windshield 3 inches down from that. I can't even get more then 3 fingers into that spot.

being 40 minutes from any town limits my choices on how to go about fixing it. I chose to use a old paint brush and a tube of latex silicone. (its all i could find) Laid the latex on the brush thick and shoved the stuff down the frame repeated about 8 times.

It fixed the hole and the drain channel still works. But it doesn't get rid of the rusty area in the drain channel I can't get in to.

Will I have to cut the drain channel Out of the truck to get to the rust and weld a new one in? Or is there another solution?

i would say that would depend on how bad the rust is... you might have to figure out how to pull the whole dash out or something.

btw i love your sig... i got cut off by a mercedes too, asshole looked right at me and started merging right into me... ignorant rich bastards.

Its truth too I didn't actually make it up. 5 days after buying the truck he cut me off on a snow covered 1 way street In which I had the right of way. My choices in the 1/4 sec of time were:

cut right and take out the trunk. maybe.

Tbar the ****er

Or step on the gas hard left over the sidewalk and 4x4 Through 2 front lawns 2 lane ways and 2 4 foot snow banks and clipped his front bumper with my rear tire taking most of his front end off in bits. which I pulled out of my tire bead the next day.

He tried to lay a claim against my insurance for 8 thousand. and right after I took the police report to his insurance company I never heard from him or them again.

lol priceless... dumba** shouldnt drive his yuppy car around in what sounds like feet of snow. i'd say you did him a favor before he really hurt himself or someone else.

sorry to hi jack the thread. back to the important part!

You might be able to get a paint brush down there and use a rust inhibitor(POR-15, etc.). But you would have to be able to reach both sides of the panel for it to work(if it rusts on one side, it's the same on the other).

I think the silicon filler will work just fine, just get that rust under control.
