Hey everyone! My name is Wes, I'm 19, I live in the Mitten. I have a 1996 Ford Ranger STX 4.0l, 5 Speed, 4x4 (working as a 2wd currently), running on 31x10.50/15 BFG All-terrains. I have some mechanical experience with vehicles. Dropped a motor into a Mustang GT at the age of 7 with my dad. He as well was a Ranger owner and I rode in his ranger from birth till about 10 years old. I learned how to bleed brakes and clutches in that truck!
I was previously a Ford Explorer owner of a 2002 XLT with a 4.0l auto tranny 4x4 beast! You might find me on SeriousExplorations forums as TheGTkid or even on the taurus forums as TheGTkid.
Current projects on the truck I am working on or planning on is getting this gall dang 4wd fixed
I bought the truck for $1000, it was running driving, new rear brakes, in great condition, one small surface rust spot, and one cig burn in driver seat. 4wd didnt work and was told it was the actuator. I have replaced front brakes and wheel bearings, new clutch and slave, and the rear shackles have been done. I replaced the shift motor thinking that would fix the 4x4, and soon considering Warn Manual lockers. It appears these auto lockers have been ruled junk, others say they are great. I personally like seeing how stuck I am.
