Hey everyone. just wanting to know were would be the best place to mount my Police PA system? mainly wanting to know were best bet would be for the horn?

I was thinking behind my grill on my ranger? i don't know were.. but i want it to be able to be heard but unforeseeable by the eyes...

Im a 31B for the Army, and im allowed to have this. i got permission from my C/O ... so no one pull the whole getting in-trouble card deal...

Thanks,
James

i mounted mine on the inner fender well on the passenger side

I would mount it behind the grille, that way the sound projects out and isn't muffled by the engine compartment...

Sorry, Gonna pull the trouble card! Army Laws DO NOT override civillian laws on civillian soil. maybe on the Army base this "police PA system" is legal, but it isn't on civillian soil. As long as you use it only on a Military base, you'll be legal.

I put mine right behind the grille

Pshhh peoples will do it anyways. A PA system is just the box that lets you speak out of the truck through a handheld right?

In that case its not illegal atleast to my knowledge, now having strobes or red/blue lights or a siren similar to police is illegal... I see people all the time with the PA systems, its just a speaker set thats outside of your vehicle actually its just a Karaoke machine.

I say mount it behind your grille too

there is nothing wrong with it just don't be running around yelling at people randomly(i would though but i'm from NJ, so i will jump out on the hood and jump car to car in order to strangle you or stab you with my buck knife.........i'm angry can you tell) either behind grill or behind bumper right at bottom between valence and bumper.

Somebody didn't take their happy pills today. Just ignore machine090767. Most of his posts are negative comments just to argue with people.

Anyway, I'd say test it out and see how loud it is. You could put it behind the grill, but there isn't much room with the radiator there. I'm not sure if your ranger is like mine but I have a large empty space that I have a speaker for my car alarm in. Your speaker will probably be larger but it should still fit there. If your's mounts like mine make sure the hood doesn't hit it on the way down. Mine's to high up but since it was already there, I just point it down. Still loud as hell.

I mounted mine right behind the front license plate. There's tons of room (I have a HUGE speaker), its a good "loud" location, and its virtually invisible.

i understand on the whole civilian deal and all... im got it now and will be installing here in-couple of days. ill post pics when i get it done

i was under the impression that they were legal as long as the speaker is visible. If you cant see it, they you are "impersonating a cop". Maybe you should just make sure its visible just to be safe
