Well that was easy. (Replacing fuel filler neck hose.)
I would like to take the time to thank the creators and all the members that post submissions to this web site. It is truly helpful and provides great insight to the DIY Ranger owner.
Yesterday I replaced my fuel filler neck hose. After reading the All Data instructions that stated that this could be accomplished through the wheel well and reading posts here. I decided to remove the bed of the truck. I was very lucky after spraying the bottom of the bolts with PB Blaster all six bolts came out using a t55 tork bit an a ½ inch breaker bar.in one piece and none of the clips broke. I think this was helped in fact that the truck has had a drop in bed liner it whole life and the bolts had little or no corrosion above the clips. Once the bed was removed this allowed wonderful access to the tank connection and made this job a breeze.
As with all things in life and owning a 15 year old truck there was a down side to this experience. While the bed was off I notice the front spring hangers for the rear axle have some rot that could not been seen well when you were laying under the truck on the ground and will need to be replaced in the future. So I am going to start reaching that project next.
TRS has been helpful with the following projects when it comes to my truck.
1) Blown head gaskets on my 3.0
2) Replacing my worn out 60/40 bench seats with some nice power buckets from an explorer.
3) Repair of my shift indicator.
4) Replacing the fuel filler neck hose.
Once again thanks to all in the TRS community as your experiences and knowledge have made my life easier.
As always the very best regards,
Chris M
