. . . and bought a 1992 Ford Ranger XLT. After a brief four year dalliance with a 1983 Chevrolet C20 6.2 Detroit Diesel, I've come back to Ford. I have previously owned a 1970 Ford F100, 1981 Ford F100, 1989 Ford F150, and a 1993 Ford F250 International IDI.

So I'm not new to Ford Trucks, but this is my first time with a Ranger. So I figured I better join this group and start learning.

I've been lurking here for awhile and this really seems like a great group of knowledgable people.

Happy to be here.

I'd say you picked a pretty cool Ranger to cut your teeth on. I sure hope this is not going to be your daily throughout the winter... the salt around here will eat it up. Just looks too nice for all that.

We here at TRS consider that a 2nd Gen truck. Many will say it's a 1st Gen... but there really was enough of a change (entire front clip among other things) that the owner here felt it really needed its 2nd Gen designation. Just a heads up if you venture away from here... it gets confusing.

Be sure to have a look around the Tech Library... you'll find everything from an electronic copy of your owners manual.... stock specs to hundreds of how to's and mods done by membership over the last 20 plus years. It really is a great resource.

You may very well be the closest member to me here in Ottawa. But my ass is on fire trying get back to my home state of Michigan. If this economy and interest rates had not taken a turn for the worse... I would probably be looking at properties right now... so I just may have to wait it out for a minute.

We also have a Trail Ride coming up in September... just a couple hours south of you at Badlands in Indiana. It's good to put faces to names and check out others rides. I still plan to do campfire pizza again this year Saturday night.

Anyway... glad you made an account.

Welcome to TRS...

Welcome to TRS!

Nice looking truck, you will likely fall in love with it, they are great little trucks. I have a 92 that was just supposed to be a temporary beater. Except I didn’t really treat it like a beater and when it ended up getting wrecked, well, now I am contemplating fiberglass fenders and some major overhaul work. Once I get my green 00 back together that is…

Welcome to the mob. Someone here has already done whatever you're planning so there's lots of information available. Sarcasm and smart ass answers are included at no additional charge.
Owning a Ford, then a Chevy, then replacing it with a Ford is called learning from your mistakes. Congratulations.

Welcome! And congratulations for sure; that looks like a good, solid old truck.

If you have any questions, don't be shy.

Welcome to the site.
