To start I own a 1988 ranger supercab. its lifted 4inches. on 31'' bfgs. i am looking to put a whole list of things into it....

here they are:
-motor-- 5.0 302 efi
-tranny-- f-150 4 speed w/ od manual
- transfercase-- one out of a f-150 (not sure what type)
- rear end-- 9in
- front end-- dana 44
- interior-- change from the red to black
- exterior-- brush gaurd, light bar, new front bumper, and a spare tire mount ( off a blazer),
-extra goodies-- 2nd gas tank where the factory spare tire is.. kc daylighters.. maybe new rims.. and yes new locking hubs...

and I am trying to do this on a Marines pay, LCpl to be exact.. the cheaper the better...

please e-mail me any tips you may have..

thanks

Find a running donor F-150 4x4 and put the Ranger body on it.

under construction

well the ranger looks great right now, i just want to have a project when i get home... but ill most likely end up buyin a old f150 and working from there... open a chop shop or something!:icon_welder:

So it starts

Well I just got a new car. This way I can really tear into the ranger. Wish me luck. I will be posting pictures as soon as i start.

A Dayna 35 fould be much easier to put in the front. They use the same axleshafts as the 44 and, unless your going really hardcore wheeling, will be just as strong. Just something to think about.
Good luck with the project, can't wait for pics.

yeah, i have been looking into that, still have not really started. still looking around for ideas.

Well I am rebuilding my 2.9. Then shoping for a 5.0. That is after this upcoming deployment. Then it is on. V8 time ..cant ****ing wait. And I still need a how to on a 4x4 v8 swap.

Nice looking truck...hope this comes together as planned...

And thanks for serving...I feel better knowing there are Ranger lovers out protecting us...:)

Well sitting here I am really looking at the 5.0 powerplant.... hummmm. Yes I think I will do that. Keep my V6 2.9 and put a couple of turbos on it.. For when the 5.0 needs a rebuild. (*Plan E*)

well I just bought the superlift 4 link steering kit from james oaks, so there is $500.00 of the $3700 i will be spending for parts thats before I got the 5.0 and r1 hd. still need input on a reliable transfer case. And if I should swap my 7.5 posi rear end for the 9 inch? Any help is gratefully respected.
