welding sheet metal


If you're not using .023 wire, you might want to try that as well. The thicker stuff just blows big holes through it in my experience.
 
I converted my stick welder into a TIG for just over $200 (including filling the argon bottle I had). It has to be an AC/DC unit to do this.
Ask the salsman at your welding supply if they sell all the stuff to make the conversion. It's not a fancy foot pedal set-up, but I like it alot better than my MIG for sheet metal.
Don't worry about your welds looking pretty, thats what the grinder is for.:D
