weird idle

so when my truck is cooled off and i start it..she idles at about 3500rpms...but after i get going, she starts working alright..
has this happened to anyone before?
as i was typing this i though my butterfly might be sticky? Ill check that next time i go up to the ranger, (my cabin...this is another moment that i really want my truck brought home)..and ill glady try other things too..

try cleaning the AIC....may take several attempts with some carb cleaner.

the other thing is to make sure that none of the vacuum ports do not have carbon build up over them....including the back side of the throttle plate. If it looks pretty carboned up....It maybe easier to remove upper intake and give it a good cleaing...in this way you don't run the risk of a chunk of carbon getting under a valve.

It also might be a fualty temp sensor, giving the engine computer erronious info upon start up.
