so i have a 97 mazda b4000 4x4 with the 4.0L OHV and everything is stock. I started getting a weird idle back when it started to get cold outside, and now that it's -20, the truck is running strange and idling even stranger. I would usually just throw it out because it's cold and that brings out the worst in cars but this isn't just a cold issue. When my truck warms up it idles at 1800-2200 RPMs, and when i start it, it idles normal/below normal (500-1100 RPM). Its gets better when it's warmer outside (0 degrees) but runs like shit otherwise.
Also since it idles so high i dont have to give it any gas to get it started ( 5 speed manual). Not only that is it accelerates slowly. i got it up to 20 mph in short stretch without touching the throttle.
So far i have cleaned both the IACV and the MAF, any other ideas?

Are there any codes in it? Does your truck have the plastic upper intake? I think it does, just can't remember off hand. If so, the o-ring gaskets in those have a tendency to get hard and brittle, and those temperatures can warp/distort the intake enough to cause a big vacuum leak. I would think that after it warmed up everything would seal back up, but if the gaskets are brittle enough, I can see those causing your problem.

yes i think it does, ill check it and be right back

i believe it is. i took a look at the intake and after the throttle body it's appears to be plastic, although im not 100% sure.
