What Happen:

I was hooking up a plow light just wanted to see if it worked, found constant power of #3 in fuse panel, wrapped wire around fuse touched power on light. It lite up for 2 secs then stopped, hooked up light to battery and it worked. Put test light on the fuse 3 no power and the fuses werent blown. I dont have a proper fuse panel layout.

Situation:
As of now fuses that have no power but no blown fuses are 3, 4, 7, 8, 27, 28.

Other Info:
checked power distribution block and fuses are fine maxi fuses are fine.

* 1995 ford ranger 4.0 V6 4x4 XLT, i ve attached a pic of the fuse panel.

taken from a website 96 ford ranger service manual:

FUSE 3 = Parking Lamps

FUSE 4 = Left Headlamp ( which comes on when i turn key .. Weird)

FUSE 7 = Illumination Switches ( not working)

FUSE 8 = Right Headlamp & Fog light system ( not 100% sure but headlamp is working not sure about fog lights)

FUSE 27 = Hood lamp, map lights, glove box lamp, dome lamp, visor lamps, accessory delay, DR switch illumination and 4x4 system ( ALL NOT WORKING)

FUSE 28 = Memory Seat, GEM SYSTEM (?)

I looked in my 98 Service Manual, but apparently the fuses are completely different than your 95.

If you're not getting power to the inside fuses, then its more than likely that one of the fuxes in the engine compartment fuse box that services these fuses is blown. The way you stuck the wire in might have overloaded a fuse. Btw next time you want to check something, splice in a fuse holder into the light wire and test directly from the battery, messing with and tapping the fuse panels is a recipe for headaches.

I've checked the fuses in the engine compartment none are blown I even checked the rear of fuse panel for burnt or broken wires nada. Only other thing I can think of but not too familiar with is the gem module I think it powers most of the items that aren't working in my truck

Oh just for info the red wire in the pic isn't the problem that wire is a 12v switched wired just to illuminate a toggle switch. Pic is just for reference on type of fuse panell

Have you checked for fusible links? \pull on them, if they are stretchy like an elastic then change em.
