Way to go Ford! Simply F@CKING genious!!

I ran across so much stupidity in GM's that I will almost surely never have another unless someone wills it to me. Chrysler too. Ford has mostly been ok with what I have had to do. All the basic stuff is normally easy. Sometimes the more involved things go wrong like the spark plugs on my Dad's old Aerostar but that's not a big deal really. How often do you change plugs?

i remember when the 4.0 aerostar first came out...one came in with drivability complaints seemingly spark related....when we looked in the book the tuneup procedure called for 15 hrs for the billing costs:icon_surprised:

sasquatch. it is a rare form of italian.....a sasquatch is not quite as hairy....but over 5 foot 10 inches. where as italians are under ......

:icon_rofl: i cant even finish that...:icon_rofl:

NOW thats funny..........Capice!
If you piss off Ryda............you wake up with half your truck hood in your bed!

(if you dont get this.........watch the godfather)

hahah funny guy:icon_thumby:

You don't wanna piss of Walters.........He's probably been to your part of the world and knows where all the good junk yards are............you will wake up with your dismantled truck in your bed (again....watch the Godfather).

Alright...I asked once.

I cleaned up the thread...now keep it on topic or don't bother posting.

No more bringing up previous threads or other childish comments.

I think I heard something like the new BMW's don't even have oil dipsticks and don't tell you how much oil to add to your vehicle. so you HAVE to take it to the dealers.

thats pretty much all modern auto's

So can somebody explain how these dipstick-less motors and transmissions work on principle?

Are the fill holes like the old manual transmissions(simple hole in the side and you fill it up to the hole) now that would make sense if it is done like that. I've never seen a dipstick-less motor, can someone explain the principal?

At least they didnt put the fuel press regulator on top of the coil where you cant get it off. ( this on a 4.6 f150)

I would assume that the transmissions you have to take to a dealer or whatever and get them flushed and filled and that they would do it through some of the cooler lines or a special hook up of some sort.

As for the engine you ahve to take it to the dealer. There is no dip stick or thing in the book that tells you how much oil it takes, you can drain the oil and fill it your self but no way of knowing if you put in too much... unless you measure how much oil comes out. The dealers know how much is supposed to go in and that pretty much makes it so you HAVE to take it to them...

BMW's nice and lets you take it in for free oil changes for like 2 or 3 years or something... then you gotta pay the million dollars to have it changed after that.
