I was wondering what was good to remove the old wax on my truck. I've heard dawn dish soap but that will eat away at the clear coat. I wanted to strip off the old layer of wax and start over.

Bug and tar remover will take the wax off.

chemical guys makes a car shampoo that is designed to remove old wax layers in preparation for polishing or fresh wax

Duplicolor Wax and Grease remover works well.

Amonia/water.

Windex Is One Good Way.

Wax amd grease remover.

Or for the simplest/cheapest way....wash your car with dish soap. Whoever told you it would eat the clearcoat is smoking something.
