The Honda videos says alot. Look at Honda back then and now. They have come a long ways. Would I buy a Honda? Yes. But because of the video? No. I would because Honda has earned its name of a trust worthy vehicle. But till then, I will always keep driving my Ford Ranger. Because it has never let me down, unlike some GM vehicles.

i once thought the same thing, i'll NEVER own a honda...well, with the climbing cost of diesel fuel and the ranger being down for quite some time now, i decided to find a suitable work car, found and bought a 1995 honda accord 4 cylinder 5 spd, body was a little rough but it runs awesome, it has 220k and climbing. I bought it for 700 bucks and i can drive almost 400 miles on 12 gallons of fuel.So in the long run, its actually saving me money so it kind of out weighs it being a honda, If i coulda found a ford festiva, that would have been even better but those things are a dime a dozen in good shape around here.

Honda is the best product made--car, lawn mower, whatever they build. They design to 1/10th the failure mode of any other manufacturer. That movie was right on the money. They built cars that didn't need a catalytic converter to pass emissions when American cars needed them. They built a gas motor with a pre-combustion chamber to lower emissions. They have the only automatic transmission in production that doesn't use planetary gearsets--it use counter shafts like a manual tranny.

The only mistake in Honda's history was the Amigo. And the guy that agreed to that commited suicide.

I acctually work for Honda in Alabama. Here are my thoughts on the company with an inside view. Yes, Honda makes some of the best autos money can buy, if a Honda is what you are looking for. While safety, reliability, and fuel economy are paramount to the company, I feel that in so many ways they are missing the mark in todays market. The cars that Honda makes are IMO the best that money can buy, but take the "truck" the Ridgeline. I don't understand why they wouldn't build a serious truck, not a grocery getter with a bed!? Build a truck that could contend with a Ranger, and I'm sorry but that is what I would drive. Honda dynos engines all the time here, reved out for days on end, with little wear or mechanical failures. It's amazing what the 3.5 v-6 can handle. Not to start rambling, but if you need a car buy a Honda, need a real truck buy elsewhere.
Just to let you guys know, yes my wife and I both drive Fords, and I will keep her Escape along with my truck, but her next ride will be a Honda.
