im not sure about this but i think im right, i have worn hubs on teh front axle on my 1991 ford rnager supercab, 4x4, 5 speed, manual, and i was wondering if i need them on the back for the back end to be locked in also, bcuz i see all these pics, on the net, and all these other rangers around town with them only in front, and they all seem to be doing great on the trails

The rear wheels are always locked in 100% of the time. Its a straight drive. The front is were you need the hubs. Only time ive ever seen hubs in the back is for rear steering setups.

Some full-floating axle conversions also have hubs in the rear. But semifloating axles, by definition, can't.

sweet thanks guys, i didnt know it was a straight drive, but it all makes sence
