I've got a "93 4.0, 5 spd with the electric shift transfer....would love to put in a manual shift transfer...I've gotten a little confused in reading the old posts, will the speedo cable work on this conversion. If not, what can you do?

What jackass-city boy at Ford research and development decided that an extra lever on the floor and manual lock hubs were an inconvienience? I'd like to put a size 10 up his arss!!!! :icon_hornsup:

In fact, when I bought my first Ranger, I saw the push button and said I didn't like that. The sales man said to me "what if you get stuck in the mud? You would have to get out in it and lock the hubs" I replied to him "why am I in the mud with out them locked already?"

If you get the correct T-case, a manual shift 13-54 from a mid-90 up Ranger or Explorer
it's basically a bolt in.

you don't even have to cut a hole in the floor, there is a removeable plate in the floor that the shift boot mounts to... if you have a 5sp now you'll need to expand the hole in the carpet.
