Hey guys Hope everyone had a good holiday. I'm still new to the forum. I hope I'm putting this in the right section. Someone in the engine swap section said to post it here. I have a 62 VW baja bug. I just bolted up a 2.3 pinto motor up to the rear end. I used an Esslinger racing adapter plate and rear facing header. The motor is all stock except for the exhaust and the removal of the smog pump and p/s pump. I was hoping i could get some input from you guys. I want to know what carb, dist, pully, ignition, cooling sytem, I should use. I'm very familiar with bugs and love them. My DD is a 91 ranger with a 2.3 so I wanted to bridge the gap with my Baja. Any suggestions would be great.

NICE! ive got a some friends locally who have 2.3 powered buggys, one chain drive, one hi compression N/A, and one with a turbo coupe motor.

anyhow, IMHO you need an EFI lower intake with the esslinger 2bbl carb adapter, holley 350 cfm 2bbl, duraspark dizzy and blue grommet brain box. cooling system might be a little tricky with full bodied bug.
