I hate to ask such an elementary question but i cant figure it out. I'm replacing my speedometer cable and in the process of trying to put the clip that fastens the cable to vss back in it broke. Does anyone know the name of that clip. I tried making one out of a paper clip but cannot get it to slide in. My question is, what kind of clip would that be called and can I make my own? Thanks

From your description I would call it a "hairpin" clip.

That is exactly what it is. Thanks. Now is there any trick in getting it to slip in?

You have to put the clip in first and then "push" the cable into it. It will open up (expand) around the cable locking it into place.

I've been doing it all wrong then. Now where can i buy thar bastard? Napa?
