Does anyone know how hard and what is required to put a Vortech supercharger on a 3.0 2006 Ranger?:icon_welder:

Not a clue to your answer, but I bet that would be bad ass. I couldnt justify spending the money on it though.

Look up thier web site and ask them about doing it. Rule of thumb, it ususally cost about 3-6K to buy a supercharger. Some places charge more than others. V8 option...about $400-500 when you do it yourself. Hmmmmm, what would be cheaper in the long run.....hmmmmmmm?

Being a 2006 ranger with the 3.0, I'd just leave it alone unless something is wrong with it...

There are a few members/kits floating around with roots type blower kits for them though if you are interested in forced induction.

Precisely!

Besides, for that kinda money i would rather put a 4bt in my truck :icon_thumby:

I've done a lot of research on the Vulcan V6 that's in my truck and it's the same block as the Probe Turbo. Now I was thinking of a Vortech Supercharger, the Vulcan V6 is capable of running in the neighborhood of 480-525 hp max. The 4.0 with twin turbos can reach 1001 hp. I am going to do a Baja truck.

Okey, I don't really see a 3.0 pushin 400+ ponys let alone 500+ with out a LOT of work done to it, with a lot of custom stuff made. And a 4.0 I have no ideal aint really looked in to modin them but a v6 pushin 1000+ ponys just sounds weird to me, yea its cool to have a high horse v6 but your goin to put double the cash in it than you would a v8, and still you got a v6......

Turbo probes are 4 cylinders, not the Vulcan V-6's...

My stout 302 V-8 (Windsor family) will basically crack in half at about 450hp with stock internals/block...

The Vulcan V-6 will not make big power cheaply or easily as a forged 4 cylinder or a V-8, period.

If you want a bit of kick for a reasonable sum, gets a roots blower for the vulcan, or turbo it with Junk yard turbo(s). Otherwise you should consider swapping.

I've NEVER seen a 4.0 put out more than 400hp (and if one is making that kind of power, I can only imagine how much it cost to get it there), let alone a vulcan.
