Forgive me if this has already been posted or it doesn't apply, but I keep seeing people on here asking for more power out of their lima and the volvo swap is frequently mentioned but it seems like nobody knows much about it or how to do it. I came across this article and figured it'd make a good read to anybody interested in doing it.

How much HP gain would you get from doing this? I think it would be easier to put a turbo 2.3 in and you would get more power that way. But nice find on the article.

I agree on it being easier, but I keep hearing questions about the volvo come up so hopefully it can answer some of them.

Do both and make some serious power

IMHO the one very nice thing about a Volvo head swap is that it isnt as frequently done so you still retain SOME of the unique factor

Other than being unique, the Volvo swap isn't really worth the effort. The Esslinger aluminum head is the way to go.
