I have a 97 ranger 3.0, my voltage gauge jumps when I put the indicators on the emergency lights or wipers, it does this when the truck is running and even when its not running with just the key turned ahead. The alternator is new and everything works but its annoying, any thoughts.

how old is the battery?

About 4-5 years old would that be it maybe.

it could be, have it load tested.. at that many years its probably worn out.

could be bad wire connection and check terminal clean ,your serpentine belt is it old or new . suspect a regulator on alternator huuummm old battery
