Volkswagen Tanoak

Eh.

What is the deal with everything having those tomb raider halo lights?

I still think id rather have an old rabbit pickup, atleast it had a somewhat useable bed...

Concepts are usually flashy like that.

Who measures truck beds in millimeters? :annoyed:

People who want the truck bed to seem bigger than it really is?

Actually, I'm just kidding. The real world uses metric, which the US was too stubborn to adopt.

Kidding again! Geez, I should really watch my mouth on a board dominated by Americans.... *runs*

Devide by 25.4 to get inches, then you should be able to get feet from there.

Didnt the article list it in MM and inches?

Just looked, it did, 64 inches, which makes it 5 feet, 4 inches., which puts it 2 feet 8 inches shorter then a real bed (8ft) and 1 ft 8 inches shorter then a acceptable bed (7ft).

I guess though, like so many new trucks sold today in the under 3/4 ton world, that 5-6ft beds are all the bigger you need for hauling soccor equipment, groceries, and pre assembled ikea style furniure.

A truck isnt a truck when the cab couldnt fit in the bed.

I am a dodge rampage fan myself

But i have a brat too.

My little bro is the vw truck fan.

I know but why not cm? MM is so unwieldy. Like my truck has a 1344/16" bed... nobody does that.

They did, I just hit the mm and "why are we using thousands!?"

I only haul parts, feed/seed sacks, gas cans, oil (in case I get a leaker) tools needed for whatever and bulky things for the house in the bed. Nothing huge. Trailer for tractors, equipment and lawn mower. I have never needed to haul the cab of my truck. :icon_thumby:

I never have had to haul a cab either...however...its nice to know the option exists. Since these damn fords seem to rot out long before mechanical stuff quits moving.

I guess im hung up on the longer beds because i haul hay, wood, scrap, stuff along those lines. Plus its nice not needing a sliding gooseneck. Just yesterday i hauled 31 bales of hay in the old 77, sits nice, pretty flat with the cab, tailgate down, dont even have to strap it. With a 5.5ft bed id need to pull a trailer all the time, and kind of defeats the purpose in my mind

Yeah, dad does big round bales. No so pickup box friendly.

My current scrap pile is too big for an 8’ box too.

I like how no one has mentions the sliding roof extender. I thought that was pretty smart and would be handy. I've never been a fan of VW. Never was my thing unless it was a turbo diesel.

I don't see it shown or mentioned.

Sounds like a neat idea for those that need to do that. Most midsize four door trucks have optional roof racks that scratch that itch for most with kayaks and bikes though.
