So I got a friend from work who is selling his Suburban and I was wondering if anyone has access to a VIN checker to see if it had any major accidents and what not. Price is more than fair and it's not from Ohio so it's not rusted out like everything over 10 years old here. VIN is 3GNFK16T61G223112. I know it has high miles (260k+) but it has the ol' reliable 350 so i'm not worried about it. Bring on the chevy jokes too, I'm ready. Thanks in advance.

Chevy is not a Joke, they cost alot to fix, every day, nothing funny about that

Okkkkkaaayyy…. It's still gone twice as far as my truck (mileage is more than double mine) and has 90% less rust than my truck. So it's winning in my book. It's got the ol 5.3 chevy 350. They are more reliable than all the ranger engines combined lol. It's got everything I need like 3rd row seating, trailer hitch, NO RUST and price is right. Everything around me with 3rd row seating is either rusted out like no other or they want 3-4 grand for it which i'm not paying. I'd rather spend $1000 and buy it from someone who knows the history on it than chance one on craigslist for 3 times the money and tons of rust.

as long as you get to keep the green Ranger, but be warned, your friend is selling it for a reason. (Besides it being a Chevy.)

Just joking, I don't have access to check VIN in the way you need

Yes that is correct it's not a 350 but a 325 which is still a damn good engine. I've never heard anything bad from the vortec engines. I'm not as familiar with chevy engines as I am with fords. He's selling it for his parents because they don't need an suv that big anymore. All their kids have grown up so it's just them and they got something smaller. Rust has been my biggest concern with buying a vehicle. I thought my ranger was a good deal when I bought it with only 99k on the odometer only to find out the rust was really bad underneath which has been the cause of a lot of my problems. I'm still keeping my truck since I like it but I need a second vehicle with 3rd row seating.... It sucks having to take 2 vehicles because not everyone fits in one.

Do a Carfax on it?

For $1000... just buy it.

I haven't seen a Tahoe/burban with rockers that nice in... 15 years.
