[VIDEO] Toolbox Tom's 86 Ranger in a rock crawler race!

Hey guys,

Toolbox Tom or Gwaii as he is known here is a good friend of Dave and myself. We go back probably close to 20 years now. Way too many great 4wheelin' memories to recall!

This video was taken at a 4x4 show ... one of the events is a 4x4 rock crawler race. The trucks would line up side-by-side, drivers would put it in the lowest gear and idle it to the finish line ... last to the finish line wins.

So with a 1300+ to 1 ratio, you can see all the trucks pass by Tom as he idles at a snail's pace. The ultimate rock crawler!!

We belonged to a 4x4 racing club so we had these large jamboree / events where we would all convoy out ... it was pretty redneck. Tom used to bring this large red toolbox everytime we went out ... totally loaded with hard liqueur! It was the kind of toolbox where both sides folded outward in a Y shape kind of like this but it was beaten to crap.

Daaaaangerous toolbox, I landed in the hospital once and Dave spent a night up McNutt puking his guts out!

Hence the name Toolbox Tom.
