I have a headache....problems during and after installing modifications...$4k so far and counting. Any advice on the following post install problems...
Installed body lift, tires and wheels delayed so I ran on stock wheels and tires with no problems. After installing wheels and tires (33x12.5x15) the truck vibrated. Went through 2 sets of tires and a few wheels in a few weeks due to excessive weights to balance. Finally removed sticky weights and balanced using weights on inside and outside of wheel (silver weights looked like crap on black wheels so I painted them to match). Had another alignment and balance done which took very little weight to balance out. Vibrations mostly gone, but still vibrating in steering wheel between 40ish-65ish mph. After 65 the vibrating is pretty much not noticeable. Wondering if I need to replace steering stabilizer with a better one??? Especially since autorotation after a turn is not quick to respond, unlike when I ran stock tires. Also noticed a wiggle in the rearend...no constant variable, just happens when it happens. I can feel it and see it in my side view mirror watching the bed in comparison to the cab. Truck hops at times, but thats to be expected.
Also have a chirp going on. I can make it sound off when I want to. Pretty much any bump, especially the reflective markings on the road, make my truck chirp at 20+ mph. Sound comes from under drivers side. I know this is the steering forum, but any guesses?
Oh yeah, I drive a lot....i mean a lot. Truck is 2 years old and I am just shy of 62k miles, original owner.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
