I know my yoke has some play in it,would that possibly cause vibration? I get vibration from 65-70, anything over or under its not very noticeable at all. the rims aren't damaged and my tires are new. any info appreciated

That's a good possibility. I also got a similar vibration on my FJ from a front wheel bearing

What about u-joints? I've heard they can exhibit the same symptoms... vibration at certain speed ranges. Mine need replaced and my truck has the same symptoms around 55-60mph.

Usually you can hear them clink when you put it in gear. They can cause vibration as well

Bottom line is, if anything has play in the driveline(bad u-joint, worn yoke ears, loose yoke, there is potential for vibration issues. However, if you acquired the vibration when you got the new tires, or very shortly after, it could very well be a bad tire or a wheel slung a weight off.
