vibration

i have a 1997 ranger and for some reason it has developed a vibration in the front ens i think i feel it in the floor boards, the steering wheel and also my shifter. im not 100% sure what it is. I have replaced the ball joints upper and lower, the tie rods and ends, both inner and outer wheel bearings, u joints in the rear drive shaft. the front bearings did come loose once. i looked at them and they looked fine so i put them back in. it happens 40mph and up and it gets worse the faster i go. i dont feel it when i am accelerating but i do when i let off the gas. any info would be helpful

Are your hubs locked? Kinda sounds like a coast-side gear vibration, although it could be any number of other things. Noises and vibrations are very hard to diagnose over the internet.

no they are broke so i ripped the guts out of them

no its been about a year now since i did that.

the dreaded dried mud on the inner rims....lost some wheel weights (clean spot on the rim where the wheel weight ONCE was??

I agree with the mud and lost weights...also found that I had a bent rim once and it was causing vibrations like crazy...swapped out the rim for my spare and the vibration went away...

no pretty sure its a wheel bearing going i bought a new one just to see if it would help and i change both inner and outer on the drivers side and most of it went away. i think most of the cause was the wheel bearing going bad and having them over torqued

My vote was wheel bearings as well... However, if you're doing new bearings anyway.... Tighten to 35 ft. lbs. - back off 1/4 turn - retighten to 16 inch lbs
