I was out wheeling a couple weeks ago...no issues...

Last night we got some snow I locked into 4 wheel and there was a bad vibrating noise coming from the front end!

There was some a little mud still pasted in the inside of my I-beams so I washed the remaining mud out...No change in the noise.

The day prior to this I just pulled my wheels off checked my wheel bearings and repacked them. Hub nuts are torque properly and wheel bearings are good...

So maybe I knocked a weight off of one of my front axles???
Bad u-joint???

It only makes the noise when I'm on the gas and when the hubs are locked.
If the hubs aren't locked, or only one of the hubs are locked there is no noise :icon_confused:

Thanx Yaader

does it make the noise if the hubs are locked and the t-case is in 2wd?

if not, it could be an R&P issue...

i dont think its a driveline balance issue, the front axles arent turning very fast, even at highway speed.

it doesn't do it when hubs are locked and is in 2wd...
it doesn't do it when in 4wd and hubs are not locked...
it doesn't do it when in 4wd and only one hub locked...either side..

only does it when hubs are locked and in 4wd

I replaced my middle axle ujoint yr ago when I installed the r&p

today I pulled out my pass side axle replaced the outer-steer u-joint(it was shot, there was only a few needle bearings in 2 of the caps), replaced the spindle seal, inner spindle/axle bearing, greased the SJ...got a little better but not much...

I have to do the driver side yet

r&p oil is good doesn't look metalic or anything of the sort

if one u-joint was that bad, then the other two are probably toast as well. sounds like where id start.

Ok this is the scoop... I replaced every u-joint front t-case forward(6 total), replaced both inner spindle bearings, and its still the F@^%IN same!

I'm leaving for Massachusetts this friday and need to figure this out any ideas??

Well I believe it is my center yoke (centerball) in the front drive shaft took a crap...

makes a horrible popping noise when slow and in 4low.

Napa carries a rebuild kit for $87.00

What are my other options besides a used shaft???
Where can I get a good priced front driveshaft?

keep shoping. i got a double cardan rebuild kit for my rear driveline from carquest for $30. there are only 2-3 different models of those ball kits, you should be able to find the one you need cheaper than that (i wouldnt be surprised if the front driveline used the same kit as the rear).

EDIT: i just checked napas website and the front and rear drivelines do indeed use the same ball kit. you can use the part number on the link i posted.
