My family claims I have Vehicle A.D.D.... Does anyone else have this problem?

I get a vehicle, that runs good, and I sink money into, and then I wind up getting bored, and wanting to trade it off to something else.

It is driving my family crazy, and me too honestly.... :icon_confused:

Lol I do the same thing!

Does it ever annoy you or your family Pirate? Heck, I've had 33 vehicles in the past 10 years.

I like my little Ranger, but I have that lust for a full-size truck, or a FSB or even a BII. Maybe it's just because I'm fat :icon_rofl:

A lot of people do that actually. Not really people get bored, they just like to drive different vehicles.

I do the same thing. I typically break even or make money off of them since I buy them with broken stuff and fix it then drive it for a while, then sell it.

My wife says at least I don't trade in women like I do my cars, lol. She did say that I have to keep the ranger for at least 1 year though, and we aren't allowed to get rid of her Suburban until it completely falls apart.

I too have had about 30+ cars over the past 13 years. I had a list going somewhere but now I can't remember where I put it, and I don't think I could remember them all now.

I've managed to keep my list going. I've made money, broke even, and lost my butt over the years. The current Ranger being one that took a chunk of cheek.

Probably wind up back in an F-series or FSB if I can find a willing trader. I'm just glad I'm not alone with my "problem" :yahoo:

It doesn't bother me, I like wrenching and most times I get a good trade, sometimes bite off more than I can chew though. I'm going to try and hold onto the ranger though

I think if the Ranger were an extended cab (even a gen 1) I'd be a lot happier. At 5'9" and 270lbs there isn't much room for anything else in that single cab. Not to mention that 2.3L feels like I am being pulled by a small harness team of pygmy field mice...

I'm 6'2 so its tight but if I can squeezed into a Mata surely I can drive a std cab ranger lol. I do feel your pain though

I've had over 70 cars trucks and motorcycles....:thefinger:

I sold one of my trucks for a profit once....

The new owner then hired me to finish up fixing a few things I hadn't got around to. When I took it for a test drive after completing the work, I knew right then I shouldn't have sold it.

So the rest of my junk sits and rusts until I can spare the attention it deserves. So the complaint against me is that I have too much stuff and need to get rid of some. It's ok though, I'm finally starting to make some progress on fixing stuff. I have a whole pile of parts sitting waiting to be installed. Still need to get my hands on a starter (4.0L manual), headers (4.0L) and a tan carpet for a BII and with enough time I should be able to get another of my trucks roadworthy. Then I'll be at 50%.... three on the road and three in need of work.

I generally don't sell them... But I usually own several at the same time... Then I will drive my favorite ones until the wheels fall off.... The others... I tend to give them away to someone that needs them.

This is what I do to fend off said disorder. I get tired of the loud exhaust on the Mustang from time to time, so I switch to the F150. Then I get an itch for some horsepower and switch back. Winter sucks because I don't drive my Mustang in snow, but the rest of the time it works well.

Posting whilst sitting upon the throne.

Okay, when I talk about other cars, like classics and stuff my parents get mad at me and say, "Why don't you feel this way about your truck." And then when I talk about my truck and what I'm going to do to it, they tell me to stop talking about it. What?

Because they don't really want you do what you plan on doing. I go through the same thing, it seems they want you to have big dreams then move on to something else I think.

I have put a fair chunk of change, several quarts of blood and over a decade of my life into my Ranger... its all for me because the rest of my family thinks I am nuts for keeping it around.

It is on a higher pedestal to me IMO than my brother keeps the Mustang he ordered new a few years ago... only I like it too much to leave it sit unless the sky is at 75% clear, wind is less than 10mph and only certain birds are chirping. A little rain won't hurt it, heck the best softball sized hail could do when I had it high school 12 years ago was 12 little dents in the hood. The Mustang is revered, the Ranger is scorned.

Mom was halfway settled down when I told her I was pretty much done with the powertrain two years ago, then she flipped her lid when I told her I wanted to fix the rust and repaint it too.

I haven't had the nerve to bring up the fact that I am going to swap the C5 for an M5OD yet either. :secret:

As far as jumping around vehicles I get too attached. I have only sold one and I miss it.
