Finally finishing up my swap (87 BII 4X4, 5.0L, AOD). One of the last things I need to do is install the fuel vapor canister.

I relocated the oil filter where the vapor canister was originally located. Now I'm having a heck of a time trying to find a new location for the vapor canister. There is no place in the engine compartment I can get it to fit. Space is limited and canister is too big for what space there is.

Where else would be an appropriate place to mount the canister? Is there a canister available that is smaller than the stock one? Is there an alternative to using the canister?

Thanks for any help!

Mark

Yes, you can use a different canister, smaller one
What about mounting it in front of the rad support?

Thanks for the feedback.

Mounting in front of rad support is out, I have two trans coolers mounted there for the AOD.

I do like your idea of using a smaller canister. Any idea of what vehicle(s) that may have a small canister? I'll try to get to the salvage yard for some browsing this next week.

Again, thanks!

Mark
