04 4.0, this vacuum ball fell against the exhaust manifold and melted the lines.

One line goes to the intake manifold and I'm not sure where the other one goes to. I'm going to have to pull the tire off to see through the wheel well.
How important is that ball? Truck runs and drives fine.

Its a vacuum canister. Probably for cruise control. Id fix it.

Its causing a vacuum leak so thats not good. Also... try moving your hvac vent controls. Chances are they dont work anymore so fixing it depends if you ever want to use the heat or AC again.

Its for the vents in the cab, panel, floor, defrost

It will be stuck on Defrost until repaired

One line goes to intake
Other line goes to firewall passenger side and into the cab, then to the Vent Selector
It matters which line is on which port of "the ball"

There will also be a grey line, at firewall, it goes to heater hose by-pass in engine bay

Thank you guys, no cruise, but vent selector sounds like the answer. Funny I was replacing the blower resistor when I noticed it. Might have time to tackle it tomorrow, otherwise it's a Friday problem
