On my C4/C5 I was looking at the condition of the vacumm modulator and I noticed the little pin just sits in there loosely. It almost seems as if the pin can fall out into the trans pan? Am I just being paranoid or do I need to pull the pan off to see where it really goes?

I am not really sure how it works either, mine seemed to be held in by not much more than pure luck.

I got two shifts (three speeds) circling the shop, so I think that is how it is supposed to be though. :dntknw:

BTW, hook the vacuum line up before you put the crossmember in, it is very tight to do it after the fact.

Behind that pin is a valve or should be a valve. It is a loose fit, the modulator will hold it in position so it hits the valve.
