vacuum line

on my 99 ford there is a light grey vacuum coming from behind the heater core. the line broke and i can't find where it connects to . can any one help me please.

Welcome to TRS

It is for the Heat Control Valve on the heater hoses in the engine bay.

It comes from inside the cab, and the COLD-HOT slider or knob for heat control

Hmm... that may solve my issue. Currently, I've got the gray line going to the bottom port of the ball, black line is going to heater hoses...

I guess I should switch those [emoji6]
God I hope this fixes the infamous defrost issue. It's either this or I need to replace something. Thank you.

Don't know what the "infamous defrost issue" is but yes Black line goes to Vacuum reservoir(the Ball, it runs vent controls in cab) and Grey line goes to Heater hose valve

The "defrost issue" I'm talking about is the default setting when there is no vacuum (blows out the defrost vent either intermittently it exclusively)
