hi everyone i just have a simple question on vacum how much should it be i mean i have a new motor and the vacum reads at 16-17lbs is this to low or what .

Vacuum looks okay. 17-21 inches at idle. My 3.0 idles at 17. These small engines don't seem to make much vacuum.

One thing my friend showed me was to rev the engine just slightly and the vacume will rise, I think this because the idle air control valve bleeds off some vacume to control the idle speed. My motor has 156,000 and it read about the same as yours. On older engines Restore for the oil can raise the vacume,it raised mine by 2in.
