vaccum linees

can someone give me advice don't seem to have vaccum I just replaced valv gaskt and intake manififolod gaskt

There is a small plastic tank looking vacuum reservoir on top of the fan box housing. Check to see if any of those little plastic hard lines got bent and kinked or cracked while you were working on it. Otherwise simply check the lines that feed over to the vacuum manifold on the intake manifold. It isn't that difficult of a system to figure out there are not that many lines. I believe there is a vacuum diagram in the tech-info section here on the site.

Panama is right, it's an extremely simple system. If you don't find any cracks or bent lines, just feel for vacuum all along starting at the manifold, then the orb, then the output of the orb (an idiot had switched my two lines on the orb when I bought my truck), then that will feed directly under the airbox and come through the passenger side of the firewall, check there, also check the heater control valve hose (comes out of the bottom of the airbox). If every one of these connections is good and you feel vacuum everywhere, it's a problem in your vacuum harness under the dash. Hopefully this is kind of what you were looking for.

I have an 86 ranger 2.9 v6. I am having difficulty diagnosing a problem. I have a vacuum problem I hit the brakes I hear what sounds like a bottle of soda opening then if I hold the brakes to long the engine stalls I removed the vacuum line to the brake booster and capped it that helped the stalling problem but now my brakes are stiff and they don't brake as well. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome thanks in advance

The hose and the check valve should be checked for leaks. If they are tight then it is the vacuum booster. But they usually dont fail. But with a 28 yr old truck, it could happen. I suppose :D

If it turns out to be the booster, Then I would use a junk yard booster. I have been working on cars and yours is only the second one Ive ever heard of failing :D
