Vanessa and I have vacation time from July 23-29, but we have no idea what to do. I think this is the first time I didn't know what to do for vacation. We usually like to go to TN, but we want to wait and go in the fall.

Thought about going to Michigan, her sister lives up there somewhere.

Thought about taking a road trip to Shenandoah National Park in VA, or just wherever the truck takes us.

Thought about going to Ocean City MD.

Vanessa said we could always just go wheeling.

I think staying somewhere along the great lakes might be nice.

I really don't want to spend a lot of $$$.

No theme parks.

Anyone have any trip suggestions that's no more than 10 hours from NE Ohio??

Ive always wanted to go to Michigan, looks like a awesome place up there from Google. And lots of offroad parks too lol

Smokey Mountains, tons of inexpensive crap to do. Or just get a cabin in the mountains and do nothing! Awesome trout fishing!

Haspin Acres is fun. Check out some of your state parks.

Jim im not sure if its over the 10 hours away it might be but i think it would be worth it!

come to Minnesota's North Shore and see things like this:
Split Rock Lighthouse

Greenbrier in white sulfur springs, WV. It's great.:icon_thumby:

x2 what mn_smokeater suggested. but it's more than 10 hours from you for sure. and, of course, once you get here, you won't want to go back home.

yes that will happen.

also we have the headwaters of the Mississippi here near me and thats really cool but way.....way out of your time of driving

If you were coming to TN I could show you all over the mountains for some good camping, hiking, and awesome trout fishing.

Road trip. Literally.

Just jump in, and pick a direction to drive. Stop along the way and check out the sights, bunk down when you're tired. Next morning, get up and do the same thing again.

Okay Jim, if you can stretch your distance to 11 hours (might be 10 if you have a lead foot like me) you can be in Vermont. I know of a nice little bed & breakfast in Morrisville, VT (just outside Stowe) that my dad stays at when he's up there on business (servicing utility trucks).

Here's a link to it: http://www.villagevictorian.com/

While you're up there, there's plenty of great roads and cool little places. (Ever been to Jamaica?). Maybe you can be on the lookout of Champy!

Well, if you could push it back 2 or 3 days and add 2 hours to your range you could come to my wedding......
