"V8SPNKR" 1997 Ranger SVO 2.3L Turbo *CAUTION* (LOTS OF PHOTOS!)


No Ranger Diesel Turbo CLOSE ENOUGH yet for my DD!

The new truck is being delivered today, 97 Ranger XL Automatic, grabbed it up with a CLEAN 8 PLUG MOTOR, WHEELS AND AMAZING BODY/INTERIOR FOR ONLY $300!!!

So... In OTHER WORDS, I can start the swap on the SVO RANGER!!!! #stoked

I've got brakes covered with 4.0L Explorer Disc and Calipers all around... (Not installed yet though).

The front arms, no.... Other than "dream beams" for drop. Though I have coils right now and the DJM flip kit (again not installed on anything yet) but they will be used on th DD truck....

The "SVO" will have my Expo 8.8 3.73 rear axle. It flips itself, and Im going dream beams upfront with smaller drop coils (2" compared to the 3" ones i have now - with shocks ALL around).

Why do u ask?
 
I have a 83 and it's an up grade to use them. I'll take the oem off your hands if your going to trash em.

Yeah, calipers, rotors, arms, hub. The 83 was a single piston pin design. 97 was a dual piston with bolts securing the caliper.

I know... I was messing with ya! I got you though, as soon as they're removed and I have my other setup SUCCESSFULLY installed, you'll be the first to know! :icon_cheers:
 
I wish I could find a ranger that nice for $300. Of course, I just sold my rust bucket B-II for $500, so I shouldn't complain about prices so much...

She's got a little rust here and there... But NONE on the actual METAL BODY PANELS! (what I REALLY liked most about the truck) That and the interior that matches my mustang seats!

I sincerely dont think theirs a dent or ding ANYWHERE on this Ranger, check it!















Kind of like the wheels too.... They'll be good for the DD!
 
So I'm in the process now of swapping everything I NEED from the Red truck to the grey truck, from front bumper and grill, all the way to the crossmember to pair up with this new tranny mount. Not to mention the radiator. Just a few things that broke during her "fender bender"!

Anyways, I will also be pulling the 8 plug and dropping the turbo motor in, within the next week or two. I'm going to throw the 8 plug into the Red automatic and pull the bad motor from it. The grey 5 speed will ALSO trade wheels with my Red Ranger! FOR SURE! Lol...

I will be installing the Expo 3.73 8.8 rearend, as well as install my DJM flip kit and my front lowering springs (3"). Thinking about a shackle flip for the rear too, you can pretty much bank on me doing it while I'm in there already!

Still hunting for my LA3 ECU, but everything else is had and will be done/ready (like I said) within the next two weeks. Cherry picker will be here tomorrow... The grey trucks motor is completely disconnected right now and ready for an EASY pull and drop! (Still gotta grab my "BETTER - High Performance" motor mounts as well.) SHIT! Lol!

★All good... Pics will be coming within the next cpl days, I'll TRY to keep everything updated ASAP! If I fall behind, I'll EVENTUALLY catch up!★

I got the her running again!!!! The GREY Ranger that is, the ORIGINAL and the one that will get the 250ish hp T-bird Motor!

Right now, just the "stock" 8 plug motor, haven't gotten the LA3 ECU yet and there's still a few more things I want to upgrade, before throwing the turbo motor at it! I needed a DD, now I have that and can upgrade accordingly. AND... now that I've DONE the motor mounts and transmission mount/crossmember install, I'll know EXACTLY how to do the swap (for the "most" part!). Only took me a day to steal and install A LOT of shit from the Red Ranger (that will accept the Diesel motor and is the Automatic) to the GREY Ranger (that will be my "racetruck?") Lol...

In other words.... the "V8SPNKR" IS BACK!!! FINALLY !
